Farmer leader giving memorandum to Barnala DC
The natural disaster in Punjab has caused heavy damage to farmers’ crops. The United Kisan Morcha (SKM) has taken the initiative in this case. In Barnala, farmer organizations associated with SKM submitted a memorandum to DC. Earlier, farmers have taken their demands outside the DC office

Farmer leaders Indrapal Singh, Parminder Singh and Babu Singh said that this campaign was carried out in the whole of Punjab on the call of SKM. Demand letters were given to deputy commissioners in all districts. Crops have deteriorated due to rain and hailstorm recently. Fire incidents have also suffered damage during wheat harvesting.

DC assured to solve problems
Farmer leader Parvinder Singh also raised another issue. He said that the lands of Handia Chowk will be opposed to hand over to Puda. They will not allow colonies to be made on the fertile lands of farmers.
Deputy Commissioner T. Beneeth assured the farmers that the problems of the farmers would be resolved and they said that the memorandum would be sent to the Punjab government. Girdawari survey will be conducted for the loss of crops in Barnala district. Its report will be sent to the government and farmers will be given proper compensation.
