The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Mathura Cantonment Railway Station has arrested a person wearing military uniform for stealing luggage of passengers on the train and platform.A man has been arrested at Mathura Cantt railway station for allegedly posing as an army man and stealing luggage of passengers sleeping on trains and platforms under the Agniveer scheme, officials said on Monday.According to a statement by the Superintendent of Government Railway Police (GRP), the accused, identified as Rajan Gupta of Zorawar village in Amethi district, was living on rent near Kheria Mod for the last six months and was posing as a soldier posted at the Red Fort in Agra.

Police said that he was living in a rented house near Kheria Mod for the last six months and described himself as a constable posted in the Red Fort of Agra. The team formed under the leadership of sub-inspectors Mohit Kumar and Trimohan Singh arrested him near platform number six near the parcel office.

Police recovered two fake identity cards of ‘Agniveer’, four PAN cards, two Aadhar cards, one driving license, 11 debit and credit cards, dress with Indian Army insignia, belt and shoes from him. GRP said that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections in Agra Cantonment police station and he has been sent to jail.
