Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday and informed him of heavy rains, flood situation and the damage caused to the farmers in the state. He also submitted a memorandum demanding adequate central assistance. Prime Minister Modi assured that the central government would stand firmly with the farmers of Maharashtra. In addition, Chief Minister Fadnavis discussed detailed issues including defense corridor projects in Maharashtra, concessions for steel production in Gadchiroli, transfer of land of the Airports Authority of India in Dahisar and steps being taken by the state to strengthen trade by the state.

CM Fadnavis requested PM Modi to give area-limit concessions to the Maharashtra State Mining Corporation for the Gadchiroli Steel City Project, which has already attracted an investment of more than Rs 1 lakh crore. Gadchiroli has immense potential for green steel production, which will be available at a lower cost than China. The release states that after being freed from Naxal effects, there will be large -scale development and new opportunities in the district.
The Maharashtra plays an important role in the defense and aerospace sector, which has 10 ordnance factories and is produced by about 30 percent of India’s total weapons and ammunition. Highlighting this, CM Fadnavis submitted a detailed proposal for three defense corridors in the state: Pune-Ahilyanagar-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Corridor, Amravati-Wardha-Nagpur-Sawner corridor has already signed an agreement of Rs 60,000 crore, and the Chief Minister Fadnavis has urged the Prime Minister to approve the corresponding.

Dahisar Earlier, a 58 -acre land owned by the Airports Authority of India was allotted to the MMRDA for the first metro car shed. Due to the change in design, MMRDA withdrew its intention and now the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked for land. Chief Minister Fadnavis requested Prime Minister Modi to transfer the land to BMC for public use and development works and emphasized that the move would also solve the problem of height ban in the area. Prime Minister Modi will visit Mumbai for the FinTech conference on 8-9 October and will inaugurate Navi Mumbai Airport and Metro-3 projects. The release said that Chief Minister Fadnavis said that a proposal has been sent to name the official name of Navi Mumbai Airport after DB Patil. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra also met Vice President CP Radhakrishnan at Vice President Enclave today.
