Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Usha Thakur has demanded Sharia -like punishment for criminals involved in Love Jihad. The BJP MLA in Indore said that the criminals who violate the law should be exploded by indulging in love jihad and cutting hands. He said that traditional Islamic law Sharia provides for strict punishment for such criminals. The former culture minister of the state said that criminals involved in alleged love jihad cases in Indore and Bhopal say very maliciously that they are working ‘Sawab’.
Thakur said that if these people are openly violating the anti -Jihad law, then according to Sharia, their eyes should be broken and their hands should be cut off. I think the Sharia provides such strict punishment for thieves, characterless people and criminals who spoil the lives of others. He further said that if such evil people were caught (by the police) then they will not be spared. Their house, property and everything will be confiscated and they will roam on the road like a beggar. Only then will they stop doing such demonic acts.
Earlier this month, Madhya Pradesh Police formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the alleged cases of love jihad in the state. The SIT investigation took place after the Bhopal rape and blackmail case, in which a group of men was accused of hiding their religious identity and raping college students.
