External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will inaugurate the two-day Aravali Summit-2025 at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on October 6. The School of International Studies (SIS) is organizing this summit in JNU in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and Chintan Research Foundation.
Addressing a press conference, Professor Amitabh Mattoo, Dean of SIS, said that the Aravalli Summit-2025 based on the topic “India and World System: 2047” is being organized as part of the 70th anniversary celebrations of SIS.
He informed that Jaishankar, who was a student of SIS, will inaugurate this summit as the chief guest. During this, JNU Chancellor Kanwal Sibal, Vice Chancellor Professor Professor Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Professor Mattoo and other dignitaries will also be present.
The organizers said that a special edition of the magazine ‘International Studies’ will be released at the summit. He informed that a 15 -minute documentary will also be displayed on the history and contribution of JNU. The organizers also announced that the Aravalli summit would now be held every year.
Professor Mattoo said, “The Aravalli Summit is an important moment in the 70th anniversary ceremony of the Institute. SIS has been a long time center where scholarship and policy meet, and this conference is a symbol of the same spirit.” He said, “In this turbulent era, we need to contain ancient knowledge in our foreign policy, such as the ancient mountain range of Aravalli.
