A CRPF jawan was killed in an IED blast during an anti-Naxal operation in a dense Saranda forest near the Odisha-Jharkhand border. The martyred soldiers, Assistant Sub -Inspector Satyavan Kumar Singh, were residents of Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh and were part of the 134th Battalion of CRPF. He was involved in a joint operation with Odisha Police, Jharkhand Police and CRPF to detect and recover allegedly looted explosives by the Maoists. ASI Satyavan Kumar Singh died. When the joint force was searching in the forest, a hidden improvised explosive device (IED) exploded, which seriously injured ASI Singh. He was admitted to a hospital in Rourkela in critical condition, where he died. The CRPF said that Satyavan Kumar Singh, the brave assistant sub -inspector of the 134 battalion of SF #CRPF, gave his life on 14 June 2025 on 14 June 2025 during the ongoing anti -Maoist campaign in Langrakata area of Rourkela (Odisha), performing his duties in an IED explosion and sacrificing his life.
