Everyone should resign … Pappu Yadav, angry with SIR, said what

Purnia MP Pappu Yadav on Thursday criticized the special intensive revision (SIR) process in Bihar, alleging that the Election Commission was working in a partisan manner and is taking the BJP’s side. Talking to ANI, Yadav insisted that if no action is taken on this process in Bihar, then we all should resign from the Lok Sabha and Assembly and the government should be allowed to run the House according to its own.

He said that when something happens beyond the Constitution, Parliament has the right to amend it, discuss it and intervene in it. If the Election Commission becomes unbridled, the Supreme Court will also intervene. When he realized that he could not win the election, he made SIR an excuse. He alleged that the Election Commission is speaking the language of the BJP. If there is no action, then all of us should resign from the Lok Sabha and Assembly and the government should let the House run according to its own.

Earlier today, Communist Party of India (CPI) MP Santosh Kumar said that this process is an attempt to exclude Dalits, tribals and minorities from the voter list. Speaking to ANI, Kumar claimed that the work done in the name of the Election Commission seems to be in favor of the BJP. He said that how can such a big amendment be done in such a short time? The election of Bihar has not been held suddenly … Why is the Election Commission preparing late? Have all terrorists have been in the list in the last 20 years? Did Nitish Kumar form the government by getting his votes and did the BJP get more votes?

Kumar said that this SIR is deliberately trying to exclude Dalits, tribals and minorities. This is clear from the name itself. It is not only about boycott, but also about making inclusion easier. Meanwhile, the proceedings of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha houses were postponed for the day amidst the uproar of the opposition. Both houses will resume again at 11 am on Friday.
