The Economic Offenses Branch of the Mumbai Police (EOW) on Tuesday recorded the statement of former IndusInd Bank Deputy CEO Arun Khurana in connection with the ongoing investigation of the alleged account of Rs 2,000 crore. According to Khurana Saman, the EOW appeared before the officers and stayed in the office for about two hours. When asked for commenting on the investigation, Khurana said he would not comment on the investigation. The Economic Offenses Branch (EOW) is investigating accounting flaws at the IndusInd Bank, initially found in its derivative portfolio and later found in its microfinance business. In the last few days, the agency has recorded statements of several bank employees. On Monday, former CFO Gobind Jain also appeared before the investigation team and made his statement.

Due to these flaws, several high-level officials including CEO Sumant Kathpalia and Deputy CEO Arun Khurana resigned in April 2025. EOW has so far recorded statements of seven-eight employees and issued summons to Kathpalia, Khurana and Jain. Khurana has been instructed to re -appeal to record his statement on Saturday. Former CEO Sumant Kathpalia has also been summoned in connection with investigation. Jain had earlier accused the bank of fiscal irregularities of more than Rs 2,000 crore in a period of almost a decade. In a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office on 26 August, Jain claimed that the fiscal works of the bank have been under serious irregularities for more than a decade.
