Science, Technology and Technology Education Minister Sumit Kumar Singh said that students who have secured top three places in various faculties of engineering and polytechnic colleges across the state will be given laptops under the meritorious student incentive award from next year. Currently, under this award, students who secured first, second and third place in both engineering and polytechnic colleges are given five, four and three thousand rupees cash prize as well as certificates and medals respectively.

Mr. Singh said that we should not limit the award to only five subjects. Instead, we would like to give laptops to all the top three students at the state level in all subjects of engineering and polytechnic. This will develop healthy competition among students. Minister Sumit Kumar Singh was addressing a group of students and his parents on Monday. The program was organized as a meritorious student incentive award 2025 on the occasion of Engineer’s Day at Planetarium campus. The award is given to the students who secured the top three places at the state level in five subjects.
In this honor ceremony organized on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and noted engineer Dr. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the Minister of Science, Technology and Technology Education said that teachers who have excelled in engineering and polytechnic colleges should be honored for encouraging. He encouraged students to learn foreign language. Said that this will help a lot in his career construction.

Encouragement will be given on internship in public sector units
Congratulating the students on receiving the award, Departmental Secretary Dr. Pratima said that his award will motivate others to study hard. He said that the Chief Minister laid special emphasis on technical education. He targeted to open an engineering and polytechnic college in each district of the state and was also completed. We have to continuously prepare courses keeping in mind the needs of the industry. He said that along with starting new subjects, efforts are being made to get NBA recognition and NIRF rankings for its engineering colleges. We have prepared our portal for internship. Students of the seventh and eighth semester can now register on the portal to do internships in public sector units of the state. We will give them Rs 10,000 for completing the internship. On this occasion, the departmental quarterly magazine was also released by Minister Sumit Kumar Singh and Secretary Dr. Pratima.
