.
The authority removed the illegal possession of the pavement by shopkeepers and hawkers. ADA estate officer Harjinder Singh Jassal, along with the B&E team, launched the campaign. According to officials, complaints were received by the shopkeepers about keeping goods on the government route. Due to this, the devotees who came to visit the Golden Temple had to face trouble.
The ADA team had earlier warned the shopkeepers several times. But they were repeatedly violating the rules. During the action this time, the team has given strict instructions that the goods should be kept inside the shop only. Strict legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules in future.
The campaign was attended by sub-divisional engineer Sanjeev Sharma of B&E branch, Junior Engineer Simarpreet Singh Batra, Supervisor Rakesh Kumar, ADA security wing employees and police teams.
