Aam Aadmi Party Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday accused the government of ignoring terrorism for revenue and asked how cricket and terrorism could run together. The AAP leaders and activists strongly opposed the India-Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 match in Dubai on 14 September and termed it as shameful. In the photographs received from the AAP office, party workers are seen taking placards and shouting slogans against the match.

Talking to ANI, Bhardwaj said that the vermilion of 26 women was erased. Terrorists targeted and killed him. Pakistani cricketers posted derogatory posts about our sisters. How can our team play cricket with such people? How can the government do this? We used to say that business and terrorism cannot run together, water and terrorism cannot run together, conversations and terrorism cannot run together. So how can cricket and terrorism run together?
He further said that how can our conscience die in such a way that we are ready to play cricket with Pakistanis so that the BCCI and the ICC will get revenue so that broadcasters earn crores? this is so embarrassing. Supporting the protests, AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha recalled the sacrifice of Indian soldiers and criticized the BJP -led Central Government.

Jha told ANI that India vs Pakistan match – This is the same Pakistan that wiped out the vermilion of our sisters, it is the same enemy country for which our soldiers had to give their lives, it is the same enemy country for which the operation vermilion continues even today. So how can you play cricket with them? BJP leaders used to say that blood and water cannot flow together. So how is blood and cricket happening together? We oppose this … Pakistani players used to post derogatory posts about our sisters … Will you play cricket with them? Will ICC and BCCI officials tolerate it? We can’t. So we are opposing this … I would like to tell the Center that this match should be stopped immediately. People are angry.
