Election Commission takes big steps for better electoral management, 21 initiatives started in 100 days

To make the experience of voters better and to make voting management effective, the Election Commission has started 21 new initiatives in the last 100 days. Officials said that these measures include procedural reforms, training programs and participation of stakeholders. He informed that these measures mark the first 100 days of the 26th Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. To improve access to voters, the Election Authority has increased the maximum number of voters per polling station from 1,500 to 1,200. Additional polling stations will be installed in densely populated areas such as Gaid communities and high buildings.
The Election Commission of India said that to improve the experience of voters and make election management effective, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched 21 new initiatives in the last 100 days. These measures include procedural improvement, training programs and stakeholding engagement. Many purposeful, practical and active measures have been taken in the first 100 days of taking over by the 26th Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Voter information slips have been re -designed for clarity on polling station number. As a significant boost for the convenience of voters, a mobile phone deposit facility will be set up at the entrance of each polling station. The booths established by the candidates will now be allowed 100 meters from the polling station entrance, while the polling station was allowed 200 meters from the premises.
To facilitate simple user interface, a single-point new integrated dashboard, ECINET has been developed for all stakeholders to provide all services at the same place instead of over 40 applications. The Election Commission has also started direct integration of the death registration data from the General Registration of India to remove the deceased voters on time and verify from the voter list.
