A 66 -year -old elder died after drowning in flood waters near Daya Chapra village in Bairia police station area of Ballia district. The police gave this information on Friday. According to the police, Devdutt Singh (66) of Chintamani Rai Tola village was returning home on Thursday evening, but during this time he drowned in flood water.

Police in -charge Inspector (SHO) Mool Chandra Chaurasia said on Friday that the villagers took out the body of Devdutt Singh with flood water near Daya Chapra village on Friday morning. He said that the police have taken the body in its possession and sent it for postmortem.
