Government school clerk arrested in opium smuggling case in Faridkot.

In Faridkot, the CIA staff arrested the clerk of the desired education department of drug smuggling. The police had recovered opium from the arrested clerk’s partner. After which the accused clerk was absconding.

According to the information, the accused has been identified as Dharmajit Singh alias Dharma of village Chahil posted in the government school of village Matta. The police nominated on 6 March last month. On that day, the police had recovered 2 kg 560 grams of opium from his partner from the police station Sadar area and the accused escaped by dodging the police.

Police said Gurtirtha Singh alias Babbu, a resident of village Chahil, was arrested near the police village Bhana with opium while Dharamjit Singh alias Dharma escaped. On the basis of which the police had also named him in the case and he was being searched.

In this case, DSP Arun Mundan said that Dharamjit Singh, a government school clerk in the opium smuggling case, has been arrested and now he will be produced in court and taken on remand for questioning. He said that according to the police records, the accused has earlier registered a case of drug smuggling and it was acting as the main supplier of intoxication in the area.
