ED attached assets worth 127 crores of Alchemist Group, looted money was sent to hospitals, links related to TMC former MP

The ED has temporarily attached shares worth Rs 127.33 crore in a money laundering investigation associated with the alchemist group. The attached properties are named after Alchemist Hospital and Ojas Hospital and are located in Panchkula, Haryana. The ED has said that the beneficiary of the attached property is Karan Deep Singh. Karan Deep Singh Trinamool is the son of former Congress (TMC) MP and businessman Kanwar Deep Singh.

The ED gave this information on Wednesday. The ED said that the case is allegedly related to the Ponji scheme of Rs 1,900 crore. This case of money was made by Kolkata Police and Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) on an FIR lodged against Kanwar Deep Singh, including Alchemist Township, Alchemist Infra Realty and Alchemist Group directors.

The accused were accused of having a large -scale criminal conspiracy to illegally raise Rs 1,848 crore through collective investment schemes. The accused had allegedly made a false promise to allocating more ‘returns’ to investors or allotted plots, flats and villas.

Kanwar Deep Singh was arrested by ED in 2021. The anti -funding Federal Investigation Agency has filed an prosecution complaint and later a supplementary prosecution complaint.Money refinement check has shown that, “Criminal conspiracies were hatched to cheat investors by making false promises to allocate unusual money through fraudulent collective investment schemes (CIS), offering unusual high returns, and/or plot, flat and villa. Township India Limited illegally collected about Rs 1,848 crore from non-suspicious investors and later misused funds for unauthorized purposes, “said the ED.

The investigating agency stated that “the funds” were “systematically layered” through complex financial transactions associated with group institutions of alchemist group with the intention of “hiding the origin of money”. “This contaminated income was eventually used for the acquisition of shares and then for the construction of alchemist hospitals and Ojas Hospital,” officials said.
