Dutch MP Geert Wilders arrested Indian Influencer Sharmishta Panoli, made this appeal to PM Modi

22 -year -old influential Sharmistha Panoli, who was arrested for communally accused by Kolkata Police, has received support from about 7,000 km away. Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch Parliament and leader of the right -wing party for Freedom, condemned the arrest of Sharmistha, saying that it is ‘insult to freedom of expression’. Wilders have urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release Sharmishtha.

Wilders said in a post on X, ‘Release Bahadur Sharmistha Panoli! This is an insult to freedom of expression. Do not punish him to tell the truth about Pakistan and Muhammad. Help him @narendramodi. ‘ The photo with the post reads, ‘Everyone’s eyes are on Sharmistha.’

Kolkata Police yesterday arrested 22 -year -old law student Sharmishtha Panoli for social media video, using derogatory and communal language. In the video, he targeted Bollywood actors, who was silent during India’s counter -attack Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack. 26 innocent people were killed in this attack.

The arrest of Sharmishtha Panoli has given rise to political controversy, in which the BJP and its allies are targeting the government in Bengal. Following a complaint in Kolkata, the FIR filed against Sharmishtha Panoli has been linked to the sections of the Indian Justice Code to promote enmity on the basis of religion, hurt religious sentiments and disturb peace. He was produced in court and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
