DUSU Election Result Date 2025: Delhi University Students’ Union Elections completed, Decision of fate of 21 candidates for 4 posts will come on 19 September

Voting for the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) election will soon end. Now everyone’s eyes are on the date of the results, as all the major positions like the Chairman, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary are expected to have a tough competition between BJP -backed ABVP, Congress’s NSUI and Left alliance SFI and AISA. The results of the DUSU election will be declared on Friday, September 19. The counting of votes will begin at 8 am at the Multipurpose Hall of the University Sports Stadium at DU’s North Campus.

DUSU Election: Prominent Candidates

The main candidates for the post of DUSU president are Josalin Nandita Chaudhary of NSUI, Anjali of Left Alliance (SFI and AISA) and Arya Mann of ABVP.

Who was the first president of DUSU?

The first elected president of DUSU was Gajraj Bahadur Nagar. He was elected to the post of president in 1954 and held the post till 1955. He obtained LLB degree from DU.

DUSU’s first female president

Anju Sachdeva was elected the first DUSU president after contesting as an independent candidate in 1989. After Anju Sachdeva, several women candidates were elected DUSU presidents- Monica Kakkar, Shalu Malik, Alka Lamba, Nupur Sharma. Monica Kakkar in 1993, Shalu Malik in 1994, Alka Lamba DUSU in 1995 became president. Dusu’s last female president was Nupur Sharma in 2008.
