Durgapur Gang Rape Case. Big question on daughter’s safety in Bengal, father of gangrape victim said, let her take her to Odisha, there is danger here.

West Bengal Police has intensified investigation into the gang rape of an MBBS student in Durgapur. After arresting three people on Sunday, a police team reached the spot to collect evidence. Meanwhile, an emotional appeal has come out from the victim’s family.

The victim’s father made this appeal to Mamata Banerjee

Expressing concern over the security arrangements in the state, the father of an alleged gang rape victim has made a heartfelt appeal to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to allow his daughter to be taken to her home state Odisha for treatment and safety.

The victim’s father said in a statement to the media, ‘She (daughter) is unable to walk and is bedridden. The Chief Minister, DG (Director General of Police), SP (Superintendent of Police) and Collector are all helping us a lot and are regularly inquiring about his health. I have requested the Chief Minister to allow us to take my daughter from here to Odisha, to some safe place, because her safety is in danger here. We have requested them to let us take him.

about the incident

In the police complaint, the mother of the second year MBBS student has made serious allegations. She said that her daughter was ‘abandoned’ by her friend, after which some unknown people dragged her into the forest. The miscreants allegedly threatened to kill the victim if she tried to scream. Before fleeing, they also allegedly looted the student’s mobile phone and ₹5,000.
