The Duleep Trophy is colliding between the West Zone and the Central Zone in the second semi -finals of 2025. Where West Zone batsman Rituraj Gaikwad has done wonders. The right -handed batsman has hit the best century in the first innings. Gaikwad, showing his class, completed his century on the basis of 13 fours. The century of Gaikwad is also special because the West Zone had already lost two of its batsmen against the Central Zone. Both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer failed in the first innings. Where Jaiswal scored only 4 and Iyer scored 25 runs.
Rituraj Gaikwad, playing in his own style in the semi-finals of the Dalip Trophy, also hit the classic fours along with strike rotation. Without taking a risk, Gaikwad scored a century at a strike rate of more than 70. He managed to put hundreds for the 8th time in first class career. Shreyas Iyer was also batting well with Gaikwad, he had hit four fours but was bowled for 25 runs in 28 balls for batting. Gaikwad, however, remained frozen at the crease and completed his century after lunch.
Left -handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal also appeared on the field for the first time after the tour of England and the player returned to the pavilion after playing only 3 balls.
