Dular Chand murder case: Anant Singh’s statement after arrest, said – I have full faith in the people of Mokama.

Hours after he was arrested in connection with the death of Jan Suraj supporter Dular Chand Yadav, former Bihar MLA and Janata Dal United (JDU) candidate from Mokama, Ananth Kumar Singh, posted a video message on his social media, expressing “full confidence” in the people’s support ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. This time, Singh, who is contesting from Mokama assembly seat, has shared a video on Facebook in which policemen are seen taking him to security. He wrote with the post, “Satyamev Jayate! I have full faith in the people of Mokama!! So now the people of Mokama will contest this election!”

Officials said that local strongman Anant Singh was arrested in an operation late Saturday night in connection with the murder of Jan Suraj supporter Dular Chand Yadav. Anant Singh, who was under questioning after recently clashing with his supporters, was arrested from his house in Barh, about 200 km from the state capital. The police also arrested two other people, Manikant Thakur and Ranjit Ram, who were present at the time of the incident. All three will be presented before the magistrate today.

Jan Suraj Party worker Dular Chand Yadav died in clashes during the campaign of Jan Suraj Party candidate Piyush Priyadarshi in Mokama on Thursday. The incident took place near Bhadaur and Ghoswari police stations in Mokama area. According to Yadav’s post-mortem report, he died of cardiac arrest due to shock caused by injury to the heart and lungs by a hard and blunt object. His family members have held Anant Singh responsible for this incident. The grandson of the deceased said that the ‘Brahmabhoj’ ritual will not be performed until “all the five accused are arrested and given the death penalty.”
