Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma said Yaba tablets and smuggled cigarettes worth Rs 8 crore were seized in Assam’s Cachar district on Saturday. He said that the recovery was made during a joint operation of Assam Police and Assam Rifles.
The Chief Minister said that a boat was stopped during the operation in Barak River. Sharma said 10,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 8 crore and 1,25,000 packets of ‘Essential Light Cigarettes’ were recovered from him. The Chief Minister said, “This is a big victory for Assam Police.
