President Donald Trump said he was “watching” the program organized by China on the 80th anniversary of Japan’s defeat in World War II and “Understand the reason” why it brought the leaders of China, Russia and North Korea publicly together for the first time. Trump said during an event at the White House on 3 September, “I felt it was very impressive. But I understood why they were doing this. And they were hoping that I was watching, and I was watching. Trump told reporters at the oval office I thought it was a beautiful ceremony. I thought it was very effective. But I understood why they were doing this. And they were hoping that I was watching. I was watching
Chinese President Xi Jinping presided over the parade at Tianmen Chowk on Wednesday, along with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The demonstration, organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japan and the end of World War II ends the 80th anniversary, showcased soldiers, state -of -the -art missile systems and other equipment designed to show China’s growing military power. More than 50,000 audiences and 26 foreign heads of state participated in it.
Xi in her speech “thanked foreign governments and international friends who supported and assisted the Chinese people”, but she did not mention America. Trump was angry with this lapse, who said Washington had a decisive role in Japan’s defeat.
Trump said, “Xi is my friend, but I wondered that America was not mentioned. The US President’s remarks came only a few hours after a shocking charge made by him on social media: that the Russian and North Korean leaders in Beijing may be a conspiracy against Washington.
Targeting Xi, he wrote in a troush social post, “Please give my heartfelt respect to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, because you are plotting against the United States.”
However, Trump softened his stand at the White House. He said, “My relationship with them all is very good. In the next one or two weeks we will know how good they are.”
Asked when his views were not invited to the parade in Beijing, Trump clarified that he had no problem with this neglect. He said, “I had not even thought about it yet. Never thought. I would not be there, it is not appropriate for me to be there.”
This parade with military power and high-level guests was a major performance of China’s growing global impact and its growing relationship with countries with differences with Washington. The event is taking place at a time when the tension between the US-China is increasing due to the threat of struggle for skyrocketing tariffs and geopolitical dominance. Nevertheless, Trump, referring to his personal relationship with Xi, said that he could soon meet the Chinese leader.
