DK Shivakumar’s statement amid rumors of change in Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar recently said in a social media post after a late-night meeting with his cabinet colleague Satish Jarkiholi that “word power is world power”. According to the information available, Shivkumar wrote in his post that the greatest power in the world is to stick to one’s word. Be it a judge, President or anyone else, everyone should keep their promises.
It is noteworthy that these statements have come amid rumors of change in the post of Chief Minister in Karnataka. Shivakumar is said to have sought Jarkiholi’s support in conveying to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah an “unwritten agreement” made in Delhi in 2023, under which Siddaramaiah can step down halfway through his tenure. However, Shivakumar described it as just a general meeting and said that he and Jarkiholi would continue to work together for the party.
According to available information, the Congress High Command has scheduled a meeting to discuss the issue, in which the decision will be taken after consultation with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. According to sources, Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah may meet the high command in New Delhi on November 29 or 30. Shivkumar said in this matter that the decision on the post of Chief Minister or change of power will be taken by the party high command.
