Diplomatic contact with Syria after going to Assad government, first official meeting with Al-Shra government

The Indian diplomat has a meeting with the Syrian ministers in Damascus, which is India’s first formal conversation with the transitional government of Syria led by former Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) leader Ahmed Al-Sara. According to the report of Syrian news agency Sana, Director of West Asia and North Africa (Wana) Division in the Ministry of External Affairs, Suresh Kumar held a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al-Shabani and Health Minister Musab al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Ali. There is no official statement about Kumar’s visit to Syria yet.

HTS leader Shara took power in December last year when Bashar al -Assad, who has been in power for a long time, had to face a coup. On Monday, Suresh Kumar, director of West Asia and North Africa Department of the Ministry of External Affairs, along with a delegation met Foreign Minister Asad Al Shabani in Damakas. Along with this, this delegation also met the Health Minister there. India’s Foreign Ministry has not given any formal statement at the moment but sources say that the conversation has taken place. At the same time, according to Syria’s news agency Sana, ministers have been negotiated with Indian representatives.

India’s close relations with Syria

Let us know that Syria and India have had close relations since the time of Non -Aligned Movement. Both countries have been members of this movement. After Asad’s power in December last year, the situation there has not been able to stabilize. Shara had also formed a seven -member committee to create a draft of the constitution of the country in the past. Regarding this, India had formally stated that everyone has interest in forming the constitution in Syria.
