An elderly couple committed suicide in a digital arrest after a cyber fraud of Rs 50 lakh in a digital arrest in Belagavi, Karnataka. 83 -year -old Diango Nazrat strangled while his wife Playwana Nazrat (79) committed suicide by consuming poison.

According to the police, the thugs approached the elderly couple on a video call and described themselves as an officer of the Delhi Crime Branch. He threatened to implicate the couple in a false criminal case and cheated 50 lakh rupees digital.

Belgavi SP Bhimashankar Guled said that the police is investigating the bank accounts and the total amount recovered by the thugs is being traced. This is a serious matter and is being investigated.

What is the whole matter

The thugs called themselves to the elderly couple, calling themselves an officer of Delhi’s Telecom Department and Crime Branch. He claimed that fake SIM card has been issued in his name, which is being used in illegal activities.

First a thug named Sumit Birra threatened himself as an officer of the telecom department and then transferred a call from a person named Anil Yadav, who described himself as a crime branch officer. The thugs threatened to file a case and demanded their property and financial information from the elderly digital.

The first thugs came in the couple’s fear and nervousness, Diango transferred Rs 50 lakh to the thugs. Even after this, threats continued and more money was demanded.

Suicide note left before suicide

The elderly couple broke mentally due to frequent threats and fraud and they committed suicide at home. A suicide note has been found from the scene, in which he has given all the information about the fraud. Initially, the police suspected the murder, but when the couple’s suicide note and mobile phone records were scrutinized, a case of cyber fraud came to light.

There is no child or close family of a couple

The elderly couple were employed in the Maharashtra Secretariat and lived a retired life. He had no children or close relatives. They could not tell anyone their problems due to fear and embarrassment.
