Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) of Puri questioned Sevadar Ramakrishna Dasmohpatra in the Digha temple case on Sunday. He is accused of giving the idols of the wood Digha temple left in the Navaklewar ritual of Puri temple.
He was summoned by SJTA chief administrator and IAS officer Aurobind Padhi. The inquiry lasted for about 90 minutes. Dasmohpatra was asked whether he took wood from Puri temple as the secretary of Daityapati Nijog and made idols of Digha temple.
At the same time, there were questions about installing ‘Brahm Matters’ in the keys of ‘Daru Griha’ and the idols of Digha temple to keep wood in Puri temple. ‘Brahma Matter’ is considered the soul of Lord Jagannath. It is installed in the new statue from the old statue during the Navaklevar ritual.

The Jagannath Temple was inaugurated by Mamata Banerjee on 30 April at Digha in East Medinipur district of West Bengal. The temple is named ‘Jagannath Dham’.
Law Minister asked SJTA to investigate An official said that SJTA issued notice to all the servants and sought their opinion on the issue. Two complaints have also been registered with the police regarding the theft of wood from the Daru Griha to make the idols installed in the Digha temple.
In fact, it was revealed in media reports that Puri attended the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Digha Temple of Jagannath Temple. He also gave neem wood left from the 2015 Navkalevar of Puri temple to make idols to be installed in the Digha temple.
Navkalevar is a ritual every 12 or 19 years. In this, wooden sculptures of Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Jagannath are replaced in Puri temple. When the matter came to light, Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan asked SJTA to investigate the case on 2 May.
Apart from this, priests, devotees, scholars and pundits also objected to the Digha temple being called ‘Jagannath Dham’. The minister wrote in his letter, “This incident has hurt the religious sentiments of devotees and 4.5 crore people of Odisha.”

Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee reached Digha on 29 April to join Mahayagya.

He had told, ‘After this, I took a neem wooden statue from here (Puri) for the ceremony of life. I have not told any television channel about the establishment of Brahm matter. Nor have I placed any such material on the idol. I have monitored the prescribed procedures during worship.
