In Afghanistan, the military is finding it difficult to stand up to the Taliban. According to the agencies, three major cities came under the control of the Taliban on Tuesday. The Taliban continue to target the provincial capitals of Afghanistan.
Among them, the latest names are related to Pul-e-Khumri, Faizabad, Farah. In the last two to three days, the Taliban have seized about a dozen cities in Afghanistan. After that, the difficulties for the Afghan government and army seem to be increasing. Some of the nine cities captured by the Taliban in the past three days are near Kabul.
That is why the Taliban’s dominance now seems to be growing considerably, and the Afghan army seems to be slowly weakening as the US forces come out. In the midst of all this, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is visiting Mazar-e-Sharif on Wednesday. Here, the president is to meet military officials who are fighting Taliban militants here. After Kabul, Mazar-e-Sharif is one of the few cities still under Afghan government control.
