Deputy Tehsildar Rajesh Naik was caught taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 through middleman Ganesh. Along with this, the first class assistant Santosh has also been arrested in this case.

The Lokayukta police arrested a sub -station of Bantwal taluka office in Dakshin Kannada district for taking a bribe of Rs 20,000. The officials gave this information on Thursday.

The Lokayukta office said that this bribe was being taken to make heritage records through a middleman. This action has been taken on the complaint of Pushpraj, a resident of Sajipamunnur, who applied to the Bantwal Taluka office in 2021 regarding the transfer of heritage records of her late mother.

Officials said that on the basis of the complaint of the victim, the Lokayukta team laid a trap near a temple on BC Road on Wednesday and caught Deputy Tehsildar Rajesh Naik taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 through middleman Ganesh. Along with this, the first class assistant Santosh has also been arrested in this case.
