The bodies of two boys missing from Wazirpur area of North-West Delhi on Saturday were recovered from a canal near JJ Colony on Sunday. An official gave this information.
The official said that the deceased have been identified as Vaibhav (11) and Yash (12), who were residents of JJ Colony in Wazirpur and studied in the sixth grade. According to the police, both the boys were close friends and were missing from around six o’clock on Saturday evening.
A police official said, “On Saturday, the disappearance of children was received at the Bharat Nagar Police Station. The investigating officer then questioned his parents and other family members. ”
He said that a case of kidnapping was registered on the basis of the statement of Vaibhav’s mother Shanti Devi, after which several teams were formed to catch the accused.
“When the search was started and the pictures of the CCTV camera installed in the area were being analyzed, then it was reported that two bodies were seen floating in a canal near JJ Colony in Wazirpur.” A team of Bharat Nagar Police Station reached the spot and took out the bodies with the help of local divers.
He said that the children were identified by his family members. The police have feared that the two had gone to swim and accidentally drowned, as the water at that place is about 15-20 feet deep.
Police said, “The bodies have been kept safe for post -mortem and further proceedings are going on.” He said that after investigation, it would be revealed that there has been no disturbance.
