Swami accused of molesting women with the help of employees
Sri Shringeri Math Administration has removed Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati from the post of director and the police have revealed his last known hideout in Agra. This is not the first time Chaitanyanand Saraswati, who was previously known as Swami Parthasarathy, has been accused. In 2009, a case of fraud and molestation was registered in the Defense Colony, and in 2016, a woman in Vasant Kunj filed a complaint of molestation.
According to the police, Chaitanyanand Saraswati, originally from Odisha, had been living in the ashram for 12 years. He worked as both the operator and careful of the ashram.
Three female teachers and administrators allegedly helped the accused
In a statement following the allegations, the ashram said, “Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati, who was previously known as Swami Parthasarathi, has been involved in illegal and inappropriate activities … As a result, the bench has broken all relations with them … (Peeth) has also filed a complaint with the officials concerned regarding the illegal acts done by Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati.”
The complainant Mr. Sharda was performing the Post Graduate Diploma (PGDM) courses in management on the Economically Backward Classes (EWS) scholarship at the Indian Institute of Management, where the accused was employed as the director.
During interrogation, the statements of 32 girl students were recorded, out of which 17 accused the accused of abusive, pornographic WhatsApp and text messages as well as unwanted physical contact. The woman claimed that Chaitanyanand Saraswat also threatened her blackmail and threatened, as well as alleging that three women faculty members and administrators instigated and pressurized her to accept the demands of the accused. The police questioned the three women, but sources said that their entire role in the case will be revealed only after Swami is caught.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage has been investigated and several raids have been conducted on the spot as well as the premises of the accused.
The police have examined the hard disk and a video recorder, which have been sent for forensic examination. During the investigation, a Volvo car with a fake United Nations number plate was found parked in the basement of Shri Sharda Indian Institute.
On verification, it was found that the car was used by Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati. It is under investigation of how he got a diplomatic number plate.
Police have also said that despite his last location being Agra, the accused is constantly changing his hideout. He also uses his mobile phone very rarely.
