Kanwar Yatra: Delhi Police has also made arrangements for registration for Kanwar Yatris going to Uttarakhand this year. Delhi Police has appealed to all the Kavad Yatris to get themselves registered before the Kanwar Yatra so that the Uttarakhand Government can get to know how many Kavad Yatris are reaching there from the capital Delhi, because the exact number of passengers is being known. This will help in making proper arrangements. Also, if any kind of disaster occurs, the data bank of the passengers will help in knowing their well being.
Kanwar Yatra is starting from 14th July
Delhi Police PRO Suman Nalwa said that Kavad Yatra is going to start from July 14. Delhi Police has taken this initiative this year to register the kanwariyas going from Delhi to places like Haridwar, Gangotri etc. This is being done so that the Uttarakhand government can only estimate the number of Kavand pilgrims and arrangements should be made in the same proportion. Apart from this, the data of better coordination J Kanwariyas will also be shared with all the authorities.
Delhi Police says that because there is a rainy season during the Kanvad Yatra, there is also a risk of disaster. If any kind of disaster occurs, then registration will also help in relief work.
Suman Nalwa also told that registration is not mandatory. Anyone who wants to register can register by visiting “kavad.delhipolice.gov.in”. Along with this, Delhi Police PRO Suman Nalwa has also said that arrangements are being made for the safety of the Kanwariyas. In the holy month of Sawan, the police will remain alert so that no mischievous element can spoil the atmosphere.
