Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday that the problem of stray dogs in the national capital has reached ‘huge’ level and assured that his government will soon implement a comprehensive policy to deal with this problem as per the latest instructions of the Supreme Court. His remarks came by the Supreme Court to capture all stray dogs within eight weeks by the Supreme Court to hold all stray dogs within eight weeks, and to ensure that no dog is left back to the streets.

He further stated that the government’s approach would be “employed and organized” to ensure the safety of the public and the court orders.

This assurance of the Chief Minister has come after several meetings organized by his administration on this issue, in which last week Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra promised a “human policy” to deal with the crisis. Gupta stressed that the upcoming plan would be practical and applied, in which the need for proper shelter and care for the dogs caught, especially children and senior citizens-will be taken care of.
