In a video on social media in Southwest Delhi, a person was arrested by the police on Saturday for using abusive about Hindu deities and policemen. Here an officer gave this information.
At the Vasant Kunj (South) police station, the Police Control Room (PCR) received a call about a person and later the accused was identified as Mohammad Shamshad Alam (26) who was allegedly using derogatory about Hindu deities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West) Amit Goyal said, “A police team immediately reached near Ruby Nursery near Chhatarpur Metro Station. Several members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) including complainant Ravikant were present in the area.
The complainants showed a video aired on social media to the police in which Alam was seen using highly objectionable against Hindu deities and police officers.
Police said that after the complaint, Vasant Kunj (South) police station recorded a case under Section 196 (1) (A) (A) (A) (promoting disharmony between different groups on the basis of religion, caste, birth place, residence, etc.) and a case was registered under Section 299 (intentional and malicious task, which is aimed at insulting the religion or religious beliefs of a class). The accused was arrested after the case was registered.
