Debt limit 18 thousand crore reduction

On the economic front, the difficulties of the Punjab government have increased. According to media reports, the Union Finance Ministry has reduced Punjab’s debt ceiling by Rs 18,000 crore. The loan limit for Punjab is Rs 39,000 crore annually. After the new decision of the Centre, now Punjab will get only 21 thousand crore rupees.

Currently, no response has been given by the Punjab government in this matter. According to sources, the Punjab government is considering this issue and making a strategy. Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that the central government is constantly taking anti-Punjab decisions. Earlier, Rs 3 thousand crores of RDF were withheld and now the loan limit has been reduced. Despite all this, no shortfall will be allowed in the development of Punjab.

Many funds are already in dispute
About 3 thousand crores of Punjab Rural Development Fund is already stuck. In this regard, the Punjab Government has made several statements and has also written a letter to the Central Government. Apart from this, the central government has also stopped the annual grant of 2600 crore rupees given to Punjab for the development of capital assets. The Punjab government uses this fund for infrastructure development.
