A fire broke out in a shop in Ropar district of Punjab this morning due to cylinder burst. In this accident, 2 people have died, while 3 people have been injured, who are undergoing treatment. A fire broke out in a shop named Kamal Sweets at Bharatgarh bus stand this morning, due to which a commercial gas cylinder kept in the shop burst and caused a loud explosion.
On getting the information about the fire, the owner Jatin Gautam (30), son of Kamal Chand Gautam, a resident of village Bara Thana Kiratpur Sahib, reached the spot, but as soon as he opened the shutter, the cylinder burst and he died. His servant Sajjan Singh, a resident of Rupnagar, who was helping him, also died on the way while being taken to Rupnagar Hospital for treatment.
The fire was so fierce that Roshan Lal, the village watchman who came to help, was also burnt. As soon as the accident was reported, the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Kiratpur Sahib police station chief Gurpreet Singh, Bharatgarh police post in-charge Sartaj Singh said that after the completion of rescue operations, the respective teams will investigate the cause of the accident.
Dr. Anand Ghai confirmed the 2 deaths and said that the condition of the third person is out of danger. The witnesses of the occasion Sarpanch Sukhdeep Singh, Manjit Singh also informed about the situation of the occasion.
