Cricketer Yash Dayal’s big relief, court banned arrest in sexual abuse case

A bench of Justice Siddharth Verma and Justice Anil Kumar gave relief to Yash till the next hearing. After the FIR was registered against Yash, he moved to the Allahabad High Court to stop his arrest.

Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Yash Dayal was relieved on Tuesday when the Allahabad High Court stayed his arrest in connection with the FIR lodged for allegedly exploiting a woman for five years. An FIR was lodged against Yash on July 6 at Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad under Section 69 of BNS, which is related to deception.

A bench of Justice Siddharth Verma and Justice Anil Kumar gave relief to Yash till the next hearing. After the FIR was registered against Yash, he moved to the Allahabad High Court to stop his arrest. Stancing on Yash’s arrest, the bench told the woman, “You could have been fooled for a day, two days, three days … but five years … You are in a relationship for five years … No one can be fooled for five years.”

Yash is accused of exploiting the woman by pretending to be married. According to the complainant, the two met about five years ago and promised to marry her. The woman has claimed that Yash kept avoiding her marriage proposal and later she came to know that she also had relations with other women. On behalf of Yash, Gopal Swaroop Chaturvedi, Gaurav Tripathi and Raghuvansh Mishra appeared. This star fast bowler of RCB also complained to the Prayagraj police and demanded to register an FIR against the woman.
