The source further added, “The team doctor and physio took no risk and immediately took him to the hospital. He is now stable, but it could have been life-threatening. He is a strong player and will recover soon. Since he suffered internal bleeding, he will definitely need more time to recover, and at this point of time, it is difficult to give a definite timeline for his return to competitive cricket.”
Initially, Iyer was expected to be out of the field for three weeks, but now it is difficult to decide the exact date of his return.
