Amritsar: The Counter Intelligence (CI) wing has arrested 3 smugglers while conducting operations near the border. According to information, a consignment of 4 kg of heroin has also been recovered from the three smugglers who were caught.
According to the information, CI received information about the arrival of heroin consignment from across the border by smugglers. After which special gates were installed in Lopoke area. Meanwhile, CI 3 youths riding on a motorcycle were stopped. During the investigation, a consignment of 4 kg heroin was recovered from the trio. Its international price is around 28 crores. Currently, the police have arrested the three smugglers and confiscated the consignment.
In the investigation, the three smugglers have been identified as Gurdev Singh resident of Kakkar, Gurlal Singh resident of Bachiwind and Jatinder Singh resident of village Mor. The CI suspects that the three arrested accused have links with Pakistani smugglers. The consignment was brought from Pakistan and the three smugglers were going to pick it up from the border for onward delivery. The police will soon produce the three in court and obtain remand so that other faces related to the consignment and delivery can be nabbed.
