The fourth Test between England and Australia is scheduled to be played on Wednesday. Ahead of the match in Sydney, both the teams are in the grip of Corona. England head coach Chris Silverwood has also been found to be Covid-19 positive.

Silverwood, already in isolation, will now be secluded until January 8, 2022. This has been confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). “Silverwood will remain in isolation until January 8,” the ECB said in a statement. Silverwood has mild corona symptoms and has had both doses of the vaccine. He is expected to join the English team before the fifth Ashes Test in Hobart.

The trouble is too much for England. Bowling coach John Lewis, spin mentor Jitan Patel and conditioning specialist Darren Venus are also in isolation. Due to this, the English board had announced to include Adam Holick in the coaching setup but he too could not join the team as he came in contact with a corona positive person. England batsman Jack Crowley, on the other hand, said that many support staff members were now missing from the team. But the England players have helped each other. Crowley said the England team has emerged from the situation and he himself is looking forward to playing the last two Ashes Test matches against Australia.
