Ashok Pandit’s attack on Jaya
Indian Film and Television Directors Association President Ashok Pandit openly criticized Jaya Bachchan on social media for her statement against paparazzi. He posted a long note, captioned, ‘Not very parliamentarian, #JayaBachchan ji.’
Ashok said that Jaya’s statement ‘shows arrogance and upper class’. He wrote, ‘It is fine to complain about the aggressive attitude of some paps, but demeaning the entire profession and making classist remarks does not suit such a senior member of the industry and an MP.’
He further said that the paparazzi are hardworking professionals who are doing their job.
According to him, ‘Most of the times it is the stars and their PR teams who call him to take photographs.’ Therefore, if Jaya is so troubled by the paparazzi culture, then she needs to look within herself instead of getting angry at others.
