Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma on Friday alleged that state Congress president and MP Gaurav Gogoi is “a Pakistani agent”. Sharma and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been alleging Gogoi’s Pakistani links through his British wife, which the Congress leader has denied.
“Gaurav Gogoi is a Pakistani agent,” Sharma told reporters on the sidelines of an event here. They have been installed in our country by foreign powers.” Gogoi had earlier claimed that the allegations made by the chief minister were like a ”C-grade Bollywood movie” which is going to flop because the people of Assam understand everything. Sharma said he would reveal evidence against Gogoi after the investigation into singer Zubin Garg’s death case is completed. He said, “I am not holding a press conference right now to share the evidence because some people will say that the Zubin Garg issue is being diverted.
