Cold wave will continue in these 6 districts of Punjab today! The weather department issued an alert

The Meteorological Department has today issued a yellow alert of cold wave in six districts of Punjab. These districts include Fazilka, Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Faridkot, Jalandhar and Moga. The minimum temperature has dropped by 0.1 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours, bringing it closer to normal. Faridkot was the coldest in Punjab, recording a minimum temperature of 3.5 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh recorded a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain dry in the state for the next seven days. Moderate to light fog may occur in some parts of the state. However, the minimum temperature will rise by about 2 degrees Celsius during the next 48 hours, followed by a fall. The maximum temperature has started to rise, increasing by 0.6 degrees Celsius.

The air is polluted in Punjab and Chandigarh, with air quality AQI above 100 everywhere. At 6 am, Amritsar’s AQI was 114, Bathinda’s AQI 78, Jalandhar’s AQI 128, Khanna’s AQI 109, Mandi Gobindgarh 123, Patiala’s AQI 148, and Rupnagar’s AQI 60.

On the other hand, the air of Chandigarh is also polluted. Sector 22 of Chandigarh recorded an AQI of 84, Sector 25 had an AQI of 107, while Sector 53 had no AQI recorded.
