Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated the state’s first double-decker flyover in Patna to promote Bihar’s urban infrastructure, which has been built at a cost of Rs 422 crore. This structure, considered a milestone in the city’s Smart Mobility Mission, is aimed at reducing the traffic congestion in the capital and improving connectivity. Buced with Ashok Rajpath, multi-level flyover begins a three-level traffic system-which is the first of its kind in Bihar.
Nitish wrote on X that today inaugurated Ashok Rajpath at a cost of Rs 422 crore from Kargil Chowk (Gandhi Maidan) to Science College via Patna Medical College and Hospital Double Deck Flyover. With the formation of this state -of -the -art flyover, the traffic problem on Ashok Rajpath will be completely solved and the traffic system of Patna will be very easy. Patna Medical College and Hospital patients and their families will have a lot of convenience in traffic. This flyover will give a new direction to Patna’s urban landscape and traffic.
Tier 1 (Lower Deck) includes 1.45 km from Patna College to BN College. Tier 2 (Upper Deck) has a 2.2 -km corridor from Kargil Chowk to Shatabdi Gate, which passes through Patna Science College. Construction of ground level service road has been completed 90 percent, which provides additional assistance for superficial traffic. This flyover connects major urban nodes including Patna Metro Rail Project and JP Ganga Path, and is expected to reduce congestion in high traffic areas such as PMCH, Science College and Patna University.
