CM Mann will inaugurate public sand quarries in Phillaur today

As part of the campaign launched by the Punjab government for cheap sand, the Chief Minister will visit Phillaur, a border area along the Sutlej River, today. They will dedicate the Khad people for a cheap raid in the village of Mao Sahib in Phillaur. Here, people will get sand at the rate of 5 and a half rupees per square foot to build their houses.

The quarries that the Punjab government is opening for cheap sand mining are being named public quarries. First priority is given to house builders for transporting sand in these quarries. Today two quarries are being dedicated for public use in Mao.

The quarries that the Chief Minister of the state is going to open for cheap sand, the administration had earlier conducted a survey from the mining department. A survey of 31 pits was conducted in the district. 2 of these are being opened to the public. People have to book in advance for sand here.
