All 23 districts of Punjab have been flooded. Meanwhile Chief Minister Bhagwant Man is called the Cabinet meeting this evening. The Chief Minister will have the president of the meeting. Meanwhile, they will take feedback on the flood related situation and decide on relief arrangements. However, the Chief Minister was deteriorating yesterday. As a result, they adjourned the flood affected areas.
At present, 1902 villages of the state are in the wrap of floods. The government has declared the state affected the disaster. Gazetted officers have been deployed in all the districts so that all the flood affected districts can get the help needed on immediate and initiative basis. Legislatures are maintained in the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and all the minister flood affected areas.
For the first time in 37 years since 1988, there has been so horrible floods in Punjab. So far, 3.84 lakh people have been affected and 43 people have died. About 1,71,819 hectares crops have been affected. The highest loss is held in Gurdaspur (40,169 hectares).
Punjab has reached Punjab to review the three teams of the Central Government. Today is the second day of the team. Meanwhile, Central Agriculture Minister Shivraj Chouhan has visited the flood affected districts. They have told the floods a unprecedented disaster.
