Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct an aerial survey of flood affected areas of Uttarakhand on Thursday and will preside over a high -level review meeting with officials. Prior to Prime Minister Modi’s visit, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Prime Minister has a special association with Uttarakhand, which is why the state has been continuously supporting and guidance to the state in this challenging time of disaster. He said that the Prime Minister’s visit will further strengthen the ongoing relief efforts in the state. Dhami also visited the Jolly Grant Airport on Wednesday to inspect the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit. He instructed the officials to ensure that all arrangements were completed on time and efficiently.

The Prime Minister will leave for Uttarakhand after completing his visit to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The Prime Minister will host Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgulam there. Earlier, a government’s inter-ministerial team visited Tharali area of ​​Chamoli district to assess the loss caused by the recent disaster. The delegation surveyed the affected areas both air and ground to obtain comprehensive information of the situation. A statement by the CMO said that the air inspection included villages like Cheepado, Kotdeep, Radibagad, Mopata and Nandanagar of Dewal block.
