The district administration, SDRF and police are engaged in relief and rescue work by reaching the spot. I am constantly in touch with the local administration in this regard and personally keep an eye on the situation.”

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Dehradun and Tehri Garhwal, which has been warned of extremely heavy rain till 9 am today. The red alert is also expected to have heavy rains of more than 15 mm per hour, splatter with thunder and strong winds up to 87 km/h. Tamsa river on boom, Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple submerged

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah today spoke to Dhami on the phone to get detailed information on the situation arising out of heavy rains in Uttarakhand.
He assured all possible assistance and emphasized that the central government is fully standing with Uttarakhand in this hour of crisis. Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, Chief Minister Dhami told him that the administrative machinery is completely active in the affected areas and rescue and relief operations are being carried out on a war footing.
