Beijing on Wednesday organized a huge military parade to commemorate the completion of 80 years of the end of World War II. About two dozen foreign leaders joined it to strengthen the relationship with Beijing amidst American tariff tension. The most watched guests include North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Iran. Leaders of South East Asia are also present. Along with the war-time memory in this grand event, there was a wonderful performance of China’s modern military power and global ambitions.

China showed some of its modern weapons for the first time, including jet fighter aircraft, missiles and latest electronic war hardware, demonstrating its military power.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and 26 foreign leaders from Iran, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Indonesia, Zimbabwe and Central Asian countries participated in it. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Maldives President Moazju are participating in the parade from neighboring countries of India. Chinese President Xi Chinfing and his wife Peng Liyuan welcomed foreign guests.

Kim came to Beijing with her daughter

Hundreds of soldiers participated in this parade organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of China’s victory against “Japanese invasion” in World War II. Kim reached Beijing by train on Tuesday night with his daughter Kim JuA. This is his second visit to China since 2019 and is the first visit to Kim’s first journey after rumors of a rift between North Korea and China amidst efforts to establish close ties with Putin.
