You know that this time the people of Bihar have made NDA win with an overwhelming majority in the assembly elections and have given us the opportunity to serve Bihar again for the next five years. I express my gratitude to all you women as well as all the people of Bihar for this.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that today under the ‘Women Employment Scheme’, an assistance amount of Rs. 10,000 each is being sent to 10 lakh women for doing employment of their choice. Earlier this assistance amount has been given to 1 crore 46 lakh women. Today 10 lakh women are being provided this assistance. Overall, 1 crore 56 lakh women will get its benefit. With the help given in this scheme, a large number of women have started employment of their choice. Women who do their jobs well will be given further assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh. He said that after this, the remaining families will also be given assistance by next month. This will greatly benefit the women of all the families of the state.
The Chief Minister said that we have laid emphasis on women empowerment from the beginning. In the year 2006, 50 percent reservation for women was started in Panchayati Raj institutions and in the year 2007 in municipal bodies. He said that since 2013, 35 percent reservation has been given for women in police recruitment. From the year 2016, women were given 35 percent reservation in all government jobs. Earlier the number of self-help groups in Bihar was very less. In the year 2006, after taking loan from the World Bank, a self-help group was formed in the state which was named ‘Jeevika’. Now the number of ‘Jeevika Didis’ in self-help groups has increased to 1 crore 40 lakh. From the year 2024, self-help groups are also being formed in urban areas in which there are about 4 lakh 34 thousand Jeevika Didis. The formation continues continuously.

In today’s program all three beneficiaries shared their experiences. It makes me happy to see confidence in women. We are continuously working for the development of all the people.
