Chhorii 2 Movie Review: Nusrat Bharucha and Soha Ali Khan presented a heartbreaking scary work

Chori 2 Movie Review: In the last decade, Hindi cinema has been in the trend of horror as well as showyness- ghosts, screaming bansi and blurred corridors, which are already full of scary scenes. Nevertheless, sometimes, a film emerges from this disorganized mist, which dare not only the veins, but also the conscience. Tumbad (2018) dared to do so. Chori (2021) also repeated it. And now, with Chori 2, the huge furia not only come back to their ghostly universe, but they re -imagine it. What he presents is no less than masterclass in horror storytelling. The more attractive as intellectually attractive, the frightening is also. Chori had already left a terrible impression on our mind and now Chori 2 is also based on a similar story. Some characters are new and many are the same.

The story of the film revolves around Sakshi, played by Nusrat Bharucha, who is tied to the unbreakable door of motherhood and has taught her cruel husband and her cruel sinner harsh lessons. She wants shelter in a cursed and prohibited place with her delicate daughter. Seven uncertain years pass, yet her beloved daughter does not stand a moment between the sun-suggestion, the life-suggestion of the sun. Who is this sly kidnapper and what are they conspiring to torture this innocent girl? This sad revelation makes the climax of the film.

 

Director Vishal Furia should also be praised for his courage not to follow the set formula of horror in Hindi cinema. It seems that he has taken some inspiration from Aditya Sarpotdar’s Munjya. The villain of her story has her own powers, she can sit in one place and showcase her power. She can also cheat her victim and bring it to her. This character is played by Soha Ali Khan. Anyone is afraid to see them on the screen, this is the victory of his character. But the director has ensured that Nusrat remains the hero of the film. Chori 2 directly attacks the sensitive center of the story. A continuous flow of unexpected events eager to stay stable on the screen every moment. The story of the film is also attractive.

 

The climax in which the departed souls fight the devil with the witness have also been made well, but the patience you need from the audience to reach there is the real criterion of this film. The background music of the film is also not very effective. Folk music should be given a chance in such stories in rural areas. Vishal Furia should not have made a scene like Harry Potter films, in which a person’s soul is taken out through the face. In addition, the author could not complete the horror part after several build ups.

Nusrat and his daughter Hardika Sharma have done a commendable job. Nusrat’s climax scene is capable of praise. Hardika has done a heart -touching acting in the role of a seven -year -old girl being ready for marriage. The way Nusrat has expressed heartbreaking steps to be taken by a mother to protect her innocent child, she is full of intensity and depth. His depiction in both the emotionally charged and frightening scenes is impeccable. Soha Ali Khan is the best part of the sequel. She is unexpected and extremely poignant in the role of ‘Maid Maa’. Soha has never been seen in such a negative character before, so it becomes even more interesting. The contribution of Gash Kashmir Mahajani is also effective in furthering the story.

However, Chori 2 also has some flaws. Secondary characters have been introduced in a very weak way, they have been introduced only to fade in narrative oblivion. The speed, especially in the final scene, becomes indulgent, and the sudden ending view, despite being thematicly powerful, looks more like a setup for the sequel than a satisfactory end. Otherwise they are an excited sin in a sinfully good horror story.

Finally Chori 2 is more than a film. This is a account. Cinematic ghosts of ghosts, whose existence we do not show off – are not in ghost wells, but are buried in patriarchal customs, generational silence and social connivance. Vishal Furia does not just scare us. They face us. And doing so, they define the Indian horror again: not the staggering style, but the generational truth wrapped in the shadow. If you dare to look beyond the curtain, Chori 2 presents the call of liberation, not just screaming.
